The 70th AAUW Buffalo Branch Scholarship Book Sale returns to Williamsville from May 27 through May 31 at 425 Essjay Road, with parking at 550 Essjay Road. Shoppers can expect more than 200,000 items sorted into over four dozen categories, along with a collectibles section and a newer books section. The inventory has not been picked over, which gives early and late shoppers a real chance to find strong titles, media, and collectible pieces. Prices stay low across most of the sale. Standard size paperbacks are $1. Newer size paperbacks, softcovers, and hardcovers are $2. CDs are $1, DVDs are $2, vinyl LPs are $2, and children's books are $1. Bring your own bags. Visa, Mastercard, and Discover are accepted for purchases of $5 or more. Admission and hours change by day. On Wednesday, May 27, admission is $25 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., $15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and $10 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. From Thursday, May 28 through Saturday, May 30, admission is $1 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 31 runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free admission and a $5 bag sale using a regular grocery bag. Schools and nonprofit agencies can also arrange to take leftover books after 5 p.m. on June 2. For book buyers, collectors, teachers, and media shoppers, this is a high volume sale with depth, low prices, and enough variety to make it worth serious time.
